Sunday Fun Day… Punch Day

This morning my training did a “bob and weave,” if you will, as we switched from boxing conditioning to a focus on fighting technique (with some conditioning, too—of course).  Today’s adventure took place at East End Fitness, one of the gyms coach James Talamini (“JT”) calls home.

While I’m conditioning and building-up my stamina during the week, JT—my USA Boxing-certified coach and corner man—is working me through proper fight technique on both the offensive- and defensive-fronts.

Today was particularly helpful with the addition of Brian Weiner, a fellow LI Fight For Charity boxer and trainee of JT’s. Together, we were able to take tactical swings at one another to better practice defensive scenarios. I found this to be educational and extremely helpful as it added some context to many of my conditioning moves and shadow boxing. Plus, it was a lot of fun!

We followed up the gym session swimming laps and running more one-on-one defensive drills—now with water resistance.

I am feeling motivated and [even more] confident about my fight night success. I can’t wait until the next session!
